Crusader Marine Engines

Crusader's lineup is built around GM-based V8s: the 5.7L (350) small-block for mid-size cruisers and the big-block 7.4L (454) and 8.1L (496) for larger and twin-engine boats. Earlier engines used carburetors, while later models adopted MPI (multi-port fuel injection) with the Crusader/Captain's Call electronics for cleaner running and better economy.

Because Crusaders are inboards, rotation and transmission matter — twin-engine boats use a left-hand and a right-hand turning engine so the props counter-rotate. We confirm engine rotation, the marine transmission (such as a Velvet Drive or ZF gear) and the V-drive or straight-shaft setup so your replacement drops into the existing alignment.
