PCM Engine Families — ZR, XR and Classic Small-Blocks
Modern PCM power is built on GM LS-based blocks, marketed in families such as the ZR409 (~6.0L), ZR450 and XR550 (~6.2L), delivering roughly 350 to 550+ horsepower for wake and surf boats that move a lot of ballast. Earlier PCM engines used the 5.7L (350) and 6.0L small-blocks in carbureted and EFI forms for ski boats.
These engines are calibrated for tow-sport duty — strong off-idle torque, crisp throttle and reliable running under heavy load. We confirm the exact family, horsepower rating, EFI/electronics generation and rotation so your replacement matches your boat and controls.
